The Invention of Lying ***

'The Invention of Lying' stars Ricky Gervais and Jennifer Garner, with cameos by Tina Fey, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jason Bateman, to name a few.

The premise of the movie is that of an idealistic world where everyone tells the truth, all the time. They are not capable of lying. Here, the plot becomes a little interesting when the title character discovers that he can lie.

Then, there's a whole religious thing that they throw in. Apparently, they don't have God in this idealistic, truthful world. And he introduces Him. This became sort of strangely uncomfortable as they kind of poke fun at religion and spirituality. This part really bothered me and I'm sure would bother others.

Even though this is rated PG-13, I would probably try to keep even the teenagers away from it, only because of the very frank, truthful, discussions about sex.

All in all, it's an interesting movie; worth the watch if you have an open mind!
