Julie and Julia ***

'Julie and Julia' stars Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. I was really excited about this one because I've been a Julia Childs fan since I was a child. Mind you, I've never actually cooked any of her very complicated French recipes, but she's a scream to watch.

'Julie and Julia' is about Julie, who decides to blog about cooking through Julia's cookbook. Interspersed within this plot, we get a mini biopic of Julia Childs life as well. It's well done, but a little anti-climactic for me. As is real life. Being based on the real life blog, she never actually meets Julia. So as a movie, it felt a little incomplete for me. So unfortunately, the life experience must have been a little incomplete for her... sad.

It was a good watch though! Lots of good laughs, and insights into Julia Childs, as well as someone else's take on Julia Childs. It was also a metamorphic experience for Julie, and inspired me to be a little more like her... to take action!

Safe for the kids too!
